FM 1626 Construction from RM 967 to FM 2770 (Jack C Hays Trail) now underway!
After some pre-construction activities that were initiated in the winter of 2016, major construction began in summer 2017 on the second segment of the FM 1626 Safety Expansion Project.
Construction on the first segment of the Project from Brodie Lane to RM 967 was completed in July 2015 and construction on the second segment is anticipated to be complete in late 2019. With the completion of this segment of FM 1626, Hays County will complete all nine projects in the Hays County Pass-Through Finance Program in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation that was begun in 2008. The Program represents nearly 70 lane-miles of new or improved roadways and four (4) new or improved interchanges on I-35, improving the safety and mobility of the residents, employees and visitors of Hays County and the region.
FM 1626 Improvements from RM 967 to FM 2770 will be similar to the completed north section and include:
- Two lanes in each direction
